Unfortunately, thanks to legal action threatened by M B Hotels Ltd. - the owners of the High Beech Hotel - the High Beech Slot Car Club has had to close. Despite an agreement with the hotel which allowed the club to use a room at the hotel until the end of June, 2012, the owners of the hotel decided to use their solicitors to threaten the club, and its members, with legal action to force them to vacate the premises. We are appalled by their attitude and action, but no doubt they are thoroughly honourable, honest and decent men.
However the club will reopen once new premises can be found, although it will probably revert to its original name of Bexhill Scale Slot Car Club. We are looking for new premises in 2012, and ideally we need a secure, dry, warm room of at least 25 feet by 25 feet. If anyone reading this knows where the club might relocate (in the Bexhill, Hastings or St Leonards on Sea area), please use the contact form on this website to let us know.
